North West took a major step in her young music career with her first solo performance at a large music festival during the 2026 Summer Smash event in Illinois.

The appearance marked a new chapter for the 12-year-old performer, who has gradually built a public presence through music releases and live appearances. During her set, North performed tracks tied to her early catalog, including “TALKING,” the song she previously recorded with her father, Ye.

Festival attendees watched as North delivered a performance without sharing the stage with family members or collaborators, making it her first standalone festival set. The moment drew attention across social media, where clips and photos from the show quickly circulated.

The performance came shortly after the release of her debut EP, N0rth4evr. In recent years, North has appeared on songs, participated in live performances, and explored creative projects that have introduced her to a wider audience.

With the Summer Smash appearance now behind her, North adds another milestone to a growing list of music-related achievements at an early age.
