Lil Wayne voiced frustration with NFL officiating after the Green Bay Packers’ 39-22 loss to the Minnesota Vikings on September 13. In comments shared after the game, the longtime Packers fan criticized several calls that went against Green Bay during a difficult fourth quarter.

His reaction followed a dramatic collapse by the Packers, who had held a 22-10 lead before Minnesota scored 29 unanswered points. Several defensive penalties extended a key Vikings drive and added to Green Bay’s problems as momentum shifted late in the game.

Wayne said he could not respect the game when the officiating was not handled properly and suggested he was done watching the NFL for the year. His comments quickly drew attention because of his well-known loyalty to Green Bay.

The rapper has maintained a public connection with the Packers for years. More recently, he participated in the team’s 2026 Rivalries uniform campaign and released the Packers-themed track Special Ops.

While officiating became part of the postgame discussion, Green Bay also dealt with turnovers and late offensive struggles that contributed to the loss.
