Justin Timberlake is marking 20 years since the release of FutureSex/LoveSounds, the album that became one of the defining projects of his solo career.

In a social media post shared for the anniversary, Timberlake looked back on the 2006 album with archival photos and memories from that period. He described the project as life-changing and reflected on the creative process behind it.

Released as his second solo studio album, FutureSex/LoveSounds pushed Timberlake further into electronic pop, R&B and funk. Much of the record was created with producers Timbaland and Danja, helping shape a sound that stood apart from his earlier work.

The album became a major commercial success, reaching No. 1 on the Billboard 200. It also produced three Hot 100 chart-toppers: SexyBack, My Love and What Goes Around… Comes Around.

Two decades later, the anniversary highlights a key moment in Timberlake’s transition from boy-band star to established solo artist.
