T.I. didn't get the welcome he was looking for when he hit the stage at the Barclays Center for Power 105.1's April Fools Comedy Jam in Brooklyn, N.Y.
On Saturday (April 9th), Tip was booed on several occasions while performing on the comedy show bill, which also featured comedians Nick Cannon, Eddie Griffin, B. Simone, Rip Michaels, Tony Roberts, Bruce Bruce, Michael Blackson, Joe Torry, HaHa Davis, Jacob Williams and more.
In one video clip that began circulating online, the Atlanta rapper told a joke about if dating is for the streets. However, the crowd wasn't as receptive, offering boos and silence. He also told a joke about sleeping with someone's mom, which the crowd didn't respond to very well either.
Tip told the crowd, “Well, got damn. I'ma tell y'all motherf**kin a** like this. Y'all got one more motherf**kin album out of me. It's called Kill the King. For motherf**kers like you. And I appreciate y'all cause you make me the absolute best.”
When T.I. ended his set, he received an applause from the crowd.
Tip revisited the experience while on Instagram Live with Michael Blackson, saying he “loved” being booed.
He added, “I didn't feel like they was booing me… I felt like they was booing me as like, 'I dare you to be more funny. I dare you to be more funny. I dare you to overcome this. I dare you to do better.' I felt like that's what they were challenging me to do and I did it.”
